I seriously wish it was. I am super excited for the Olympics to start. Mostly because I love anything that connects the world. For 2 weeks everyone forgets that they hate each other. Or maybe it's just because I'm such a xenophile. ;] But I seriously considered watching the world cup for the same reason. And I don't even like soccer.
Of course getting the chance to see Apolo Ohno sweetens the Olympics as well. And recently finding out he's half Japanese makes him even more appealing. Though at the winter Olympics i only watch the ice skating. Much like at the summer Olympics I only watch the gymnastics. But that doesn't make me any less excited for the Olympics in general.
I'm also looking forward to how many medals we win. America usually dominates everything. Last Olympics we won the most medals overall. However, China won the most overall gold medals. But all those medals those medals weren't 100% deserved. Let's not forget their gymnastic team that wasn't old enough to compete. And He Kexin who basically stole the medal. The news said there was documents that they were really of age, but I don't believe that. The Chinese claimed that everyone was insulting them. That all teenage Chinese girls look that young. Or something to that effect. But I call BS, I've seen enough Asian too know that's not true.
But as excited for the Vancouver Olympics I'm even more excited for the 2012 London Olympics. Can anyone say Project Blue Beam? Rik Clay didn't die for nothing! Bur I suppose that's another post for another day.
